STC OBA NSW - New Committee 2011/12
The Annual General Meeting of S. Thomas’ College OBA NSW was held on Sunday 30th October 2011.
Eksath Perera was appointed President succeeding Panchan Ratneser. In his annual report Panchan highlighted the major events undertaken during period as President. He thanked the team for their support in achieving success at every event.
Proposing a vote of thanks Eksath congratulated the members of the new committee and thanked Panchan and other outgoing committee members for their dedication, high standards and conduct. He committed the new committee to continue to maintain the traditions and standards built over the years and to keep an open mind to meet new opportunities and challenges of the future.
Ralph Martyn, 64-year-old railway station host, was awarded an Australian Bravery Medal, for two acts that saved a person’s life at Middle Brighton station and another at Prahran station. In both incidents he was able to save each person minutes before a train trundled down the line at the station.

The Asia Foundation has announced LankaCorps, a unique new opportunity for young professionals of Sri Lankan heritage to professionally engage in social, cultural, and economic development activities in Sri Lanka. Three young leaders will be selected to live and work for six months in Sri Lanka as Asia Foundation LankaCorps Fellows from June 15 to December 15, 2012. The program's intent is to foster the involvement of young members of the diaspora who have limited in-depth experience with the country. The application deadline for diaspora applicants outside North American is February 15.

This year, we were back at Killara Park. Not just on the side wicket but on the main turf. Conditions for batting and bowling were perfect......
